Training options

  • If you are interested in Private Lessons, Board and Train, or would like to talk through your training goals with your pup, this is the first step to setting up training with us. It allows us to get to know you and your specific training goals for your dog so we can work together to see what would be best to accomplish your training goals. During your phone consultation, please ask any and all questions you have in regards to pricing, your training goals, behavioral issues, and anything else.

  • Private lessons are done in your home or out in public (for those who have done one in-home lesson with PK9 before). These lessons focus on your specific training goals, working with you to show you the best way your dog learns and how to continue their training in the home. This includes Puppy 101, Basic manners, Advanced Obedience, Out-n-about manners, and Off Leash Obedience. Lessons can also focus on Behavior Modification such as reactivity, separation anxiety, aggression, resource guarding, and anything else you are struggling with. Lessons are 1 to 1-1/2 hours long once a week with a follow up email after each lesson and 24/7 support. Packages of 5 or 10 can be purchased for a discounted rate.

    Lessons are offered one off for $100 or a package of 5 for $450

  • Yes, we offer CGC testing! This is for current clients who have done at least one private lesson or B&T. $15 for all AKC tests - AKC Star puppy, CGC, CGCU, CGCA

  • Yes, we now offer group classes! We currently have Puppy 101, Basic Manners, Intermediate Manners, Advanced/off leash training, Canine Good Citizen prep course, Clicker Tricks, and Surviving the Real World. We will soon be offering a drop in socialization class, “The Perfect Pal” Each class will run for 5 weeks and will have 4 teams per class. Classes will be held at the training building at Whispering Pines Pet Lodge. Check out the link below to create a client profile today!

Board and Train Programs

Our Board and Train Programs offer the ground work needed to have a safe, lasting relationship with your puppy. Whether you have a brand new puppy, a pup just looking for obedience training, or a pup with behavioral training goals, we have the program for you! Our Board and Train programs consist of in-house training in the comfort of our home on 2 acres so that your pup will learn in a home environment. All programs also include:

  • Obedience training - sit, down, place, loose leash walking, recall, threshold manners, etc

  • Socialization - Appropriate socialization and confidence building to dogs, farm animals, people, objects, and outings to places such as parks, home depot, Scheels, Lowes, coffee shops, and downtown areas of surrounding towns

  • All training equipment needed. This can include: slip lead, prong collar, long line, remote collar ( e-collar), and place cot.

  • A training booklet covering all information covered in your B&T and your go home lessons

  • A go-home lesson, 2 follow up lessons, and life time support


Puppy Foundations Program

2 weeks for $2000. (includes slip lead, place bed, long line, and treat pouch)

This program is designed for puppies 8-20 weeks old. We will focus on potty training, proper socialization, basic commands, crate training, and confidence building. We will also introduce proper dog-dog play as well as creating neutrality in outings in a safe way. This can include to parks, coffee shops, and farmer’s market. This is a great way to start your relationship with your new puppy off right!

Obedience Program

3 weeks for $3000. (includes slip lead, prong collar (if needed), remote collar, place bed, long line, and treat pouch)

This program introduces basic - advanced off leash obedience including sit, down, loose leash walking, recall, leave it, drop it, place etc. We introduce the concept of Distance, Duration, and Distractions by taking your pup into new situations and outings. This can include around farm animals, Scheels, Lowes, Old town FOCO, Denver, parks, and more. We can also address minor behavioral issues such as jumping, counter surfing, door bolting, proper dog - dog socialization, confidence building, and overall peace in the house. Your dog will leave with a solid foundation of obedience and the ability to take that obedience anywhere!

This specialized program is for those dogs with dog-dog reactivity, dog-human reactivity, any type of aggression, resource guarding, severe fear and anxiety, and leash reactivity. Your dog will begin with a strong foundation of obedience included in the obedience program. We will create a custom training plan for your dog and will work through desensitization of their triggers, muzzle conditioning, safe socialization to dogs and people, outings when your dog is ready for them, and management stragedies to implement at home. Depending on the situation, you will be able to visit your puppy halfway through the program to catch up on all that we have taught them so far! Depending on your pup and their training goals, the program starts at 5 weeks but may be extended so that we can ensure your pup’s success.

5 + weeks, starting at $4500 (includes slip lead, prong collar (if needed), remote collar, place bed, long line, and treat pouch).
